Biography

太阳城亚洲最新登录网址Prof. Billy Gage Raley grew up near Dallas, Texas. While attending college at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., he interned at the White House and answered calls to the White House Comment Line. While attending the University of Virginia School of Law, he served as an editor of the Virginia Law Review. After graduating from UVA Law, he moved abroad to Japan to study business law at Kyushu University as a Monbukagakusho Scholar.

He practiced corporate law from 2012-2015 at American law firms in Vietnam and Myanmar. During that time, he served as the lead briefing attorney for Coca-Cola in successful negotiations with the Vietnamese government to scrap a proposed 10% tax on carbonated beverages. He also assisted in drafting the prospectus for the first IPO on Myanmar’s new Yangon Stock Exchange.

In March 2015, Prof. Raley joined the faculty at Hanyang University School of Law in Seoul, South Korea. At Hanyang, he taught Introduction to Anglo-American Law, American Contract Law, American Tort Law, and Legal Research & Writing. The law school student body voted to award him the “Best Lecturer Award” in 2017 and 2019.

太阳城亚洲最新登录网址In 2017, Prof. Raley enrolled part-time in Harvard University’s Master of Liberal Arts program, where he attended on-campus classes during Hanyang’s summer and winter breaks. He received a master’s degree in Spring 2021.

太阳城亚洲最新登录网址In late 2019, he joined newly-appointed U.S. District Court Judge Lee P. Rudofsky’s chambers as a law clerk. In this role, he researched legal issues, provided advice, and drafted judicial rulings for Judge Rudofsky.

After his clerkship term ended in August 2021, Prof. Raley joined the faculty at Wenzhou-Kean University.
